Rawling’s universe combines the fantasy of Lewis Carroll and Maurice Sendak, the sketchy realism of Quentin Blake, the gothicism of Hieronymus Bosch and the poise of Alexander Calder’s sculptures. It feels like being taken into your eccentric uncle’s yurt in Dorset so he can show you what he’s been up to. The cumulative charm is akin to the best children’s books or the earliest cinema and zoetrope, providing the perfect salve for all us fluro-overloaded technophobes. Who’d have thought the zeitgeist would be so spartan?

Musical Director
A musician with an interest in working to picture amongst other things. A guitar player and multi-instrumentalist, I also use electronics to create rhythm and texture, my compositions are informed experiences of jazz groups, symphony orchestras, americana, japanese hip hop, guitar pop, electronica, improvisation and live soundtracks. To date, I’ve collaborated on six scores for The Paper Cinema and have also produced music and sound design for Bristol Old Vic, Battersea Arts Centre, PRS Sound Foundation, Channel 4 and Future Shorts. Teele Uustani - Puppeteer - Has been involved in several short films, music videos and theatre projects as a deviser, puppet maker and an assistant director. Working with masks, mime, live-cameras and clown mostly in a collaborative devising process. Loves character work, improvisation and the art of visual theatre. Other projects here and here.
Catherine V Rock - PuppeteerPuppeteer/ Puppet Maker/ Performer. Cat is an award winning puppeteer, film maker and performer who makes wonderfully weird puppetry pieces for the stage, film and beyond. Cat is a co-director for the House of Funny Noise and Director of the Bristol 48h Puppet Film Challenge.
